Trade Watch: Exports show signs of life
OTTAWA—September exports to the U.S. have picked up for the third consecutive month since June on a sequential basis, says the latest trade data from Statistics Canada. Total exports south came in at $69.3 million, still down on a year-over-year basis from the 2008 exports of $90.6 million. Imports from the U.S. totaled $77.1 million, up from August of this year, but down from the $91.1 million in September 2008. Imports from China, however, came at $25.7 million in September, their highest showing of the past 24 months.
