CPISC secures wage subsidy funding; now accepting applications
OTTAWA—The Canadian Printing Industry Sector Council is now accepting applications for the second year of its Career Focus Program beginning April 1.

Employers who meet eligibility criteria under the program established by the federal government are required to guarantee a minimum of four months of continuous employment to a new or recent graduate, who must work at least 30 hours per week. In return, employers will receive a subsidy representing one third of the new employee’s total wage, up to a maximum of $12,750 per employee.

The Career Focus Program is funded through the Government of Canada through the Sector Council Program of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada. The CPISC is also hosting its 2010 Forum on May 7 in Halifax to discuss opportunities and challenges facing Canada's printing and graphic communications industries.
