Solisco's Tri-Graphic plant files for bankruptcy
OTTAWA—Solisco has filed for bankruptcy for its Tri-Graphic facility in Ottawa. Workers were locked out of the plant by a bailiff in August, who gave the company until early September to pay its landlord (who was owed nearly $200,000) or the assets would be appraised and sold.
While a Solisco employee at another company site told PrintCAN at that time it was a temporary closure and the Ottawa plant was expected to re-open Sept. 15, on Sept. 8 Solisco filed for bankruptcy with Farber Financial Group in Toronto appointed as trustee.
Farber records show Solisco owes creditors (secured and unsecured) around $3.76 million. The largest creditors are the Toronto Dominion Bank and Imprimerie Solisco in Scott, Que., which is owed about $1.1 million. There will be a creditors meeting on Sept. 26 at the Hampton Inn Ottawa.
Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
