4over's Mississauga printing plant opens ahead of schedule
MISSISSAUGA—4over's new printing plant in Mississauga has opened ahead of schedule, with the first week of live production "a great learning experience".

It was anticipated that the U.S. trade printer would open its first Canadian facility on Dec. 5. But on Dec. 2, "after a period of testing and perfecting the production work-flow, 4over’s first 100% Canadian live batch was printed and shipped out," noted the company.

"I took pictures following the whole process. It was pretty special - like a newborn. Our crew was a bit nervous but really pumped. Above all we were extremely cautious of all the details. You could see the pride oozing out of everyone," said Tom Hogan, 4over's Mississauga plant manager.

Company officials said the first week of production was a great learning experience for the Canadian production team.

“Only after a week of production, we are seeing a huge growth in Canadian account sign-ups," said 4over's chief executive officer, Zarik Megerdician. "We are humbled and honored with this kind of support and are working double time to accommodate all deadlines.”

No one will step foot in the shop, it's simply not the way they work. They need to keep secret how they have their elves keeping track of all our clients... So they can feed them over to their retail site. I guess it's buyer beware

You raise a good point Steve. They sound rather secretive. Maybe you have to get them to print a job and ask for an on press approval if they let you. Maybe they don't want anybody solwing down production or seeing who their customers are.

I am glad to see a new trade printer move into Mississauga. However, I have been unable to confirm its location in Mississauga, and whether or not, the shop has a phone number. I know that is picky, but a local address and local phone is a good start to having a local presence.

It's funny reading this today, the same day I purchase photoshop user at Chapters and saw its retail website selling to Canadian business directly via redtag prints. This must be where the business is coming from. I read a lot of bad pr about 4over in the U.S., but had an open mind until seeing their full page ad marketing to retail businesses directly. They are not leaving me feeling good at all about them coming here. All I need is more direct wholesaler competing for my business. In my opinion 4Over taking food off my family's plate and I don't know why anyone would print with them, not that some of our own trade printers arent just as bad...its all bull if you ask me.
