MPH Graphics buys assets of Signature Printing
MARKHAM, ON—Commercial shop MPH Graphics, a 20-employee operation, has acquired the assets of Signature Printing, PrintCan has learned. Signature Printing is a 12-person shop focusing on commercial work with a specialty focus on printing maps. Signature owner Tom Walback is joining MPH as vice president. Stephen Pugh, MPH president, said he was attracted to the company because it presented a good package of a young leader who could focus on growing sales, the chance to grow his business into new areas (the two operations have no overlapping clients) and the opportunity to acquire a newer 8-colour 40" press with roll to sheeter, which Signature is bringing over.
The combined shop is moving to a new 25,000 sq. ft. location in Markham. All Signature employees will move initially, but some consolidation may follow. The firepower of the shop will include the 8-colour press, a 4-colour half web, a 26" 2-colour press, a large-format Mutoh device, and digital equipment that includes a Xerox 700 DocuColor and Nuvera 120 EA. The company will continue to trade as MPH Graphics.
