Domtar CEO and Transcontinental President to speak at Print World
TORONTO—John D. Williams, CEO of Domtar Corp., and Brian Reid, President of Transcontinental Printing, will appear together in a special panel session at Print World 2010 on Nov. 22 in downtown Toronto.

John D. Williams, Brian Reid and Frank Romano

The session, entitled How to Win the War on Print, will also include Frank Romano, Professor Emeritus of the Rochester Institute of Technology and one of the printing industry's most widely recognized experts.

These three key industry players will outline their prescriptions for fighting the so called war on print. Where are the opportunities? Which parts of the print industry will shrink or even die, and which will grow or remain vigorous? How are major businesses such as Domtar and Transcontinental adapting?

John D. Williams has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Domtar Corporation, one of the world's leading paper manufacturers, since January 2009. Mr. Williams has over 30 years of experience in both the consumer products and packaging industry. Prior to joining Domtar, Mr. Williams's professional journey took him to SCA Packaging, a business group of the global consumer goods and paper giant, SCA.

As President of SCA Packaging Europe from 2005 to 2008, Mr. Williams helped transform the company from an undifferentiated manufacturer into a market-driven, customer-oriented packaging solutions provider.

Brian Reid has been an important part of Transcontinental's growth story since 1992. In November 2008, he was appointed President, Transcontinental Printing, a sector that brings together services to retailers and publishers of newspapers, magazines, books and catalogs, as well as Transcontinental's U.S. direct mail and Mexican operations. In this role, Mr. Reid is responsible for approximately 8,500 employees and revenues of more than $1.5 billion on an annualized basis.

Frank Romano's career has spanned 50 years in the printing and publishing industries. Many know him as the editor of the International Paper Pocket Pal, or have read one of the thousands of articles he has written. He is the author of 45 books, including the 10,000-term Encyclopedia of Graphic Communications (with Richard Romano), the standard reference in the field. He lectures extensively and is Professor Emeritus at Rochester Institute of Technology.

The session takes place Monday, Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. on the third and final day of Print World.
