DScoop conference draws more than 2,000
ORLANDO—More than 2,000 users of Indigo presses and inkjet equipment, came to Orlando late last week to hear the latest from HP, take in presentations on a variety of topics and network with other printers. DScoop is one of the largest user groups in the industry drawing people from around the world.

HP took the opportunity to provide updates on some of its developments. Reps said, for example, that about 25 systems of the T300 inkjet web press are operational around the world and that last year the presses produced 1.5 billion letter-sized pages. A large proportion of that output, mostly in the publishing market, took place in the last quarter of the year. A smaller version of the press, the T200 is becoming available this spring.

Next markets for the press, says HP, are magazines, particularly B to B titles, catalogues and even commercial printing of 500 to 5,000 runs.

In general HP reported it had achieved a 19% increase in commercial printing hardware shipments last year, with Indigo presses reporting a 25% page growth.

DScoop is an association of HP users with more than 5,500 members around the world. In addition to the annual conference it sponsors other educational activities, and keeps members connected through websites, newsletters and webinars.
