Captain Canuck stands up for Canadian printers
TORONTO—Printer Gateway has teamed up with comic superhero Captain Canuck to "take on marauding giant U.S. trade printers invading Canada."

Brian Armstrong, owner of Printer Gateway, said he has been "fighting a relentless battle" against the "onslaught of powerhouse American competitors" selling at wholesale prices into the Canadian market.

Armstrong claims American trade printers are "using website storefronts to steal business."

Armstrong teamed up with Richard Comely, Captain Canuck artist, who was looking for a printer for a special edition of Captain Canuck. While completing the comic book, the partnership also launched the 100% Canadian Super Power Team Up campaign, supported by a 8.5x11 fold-out brochure featuring the comic book hero urging consumers to "stand proud and support Canadian companies."

Comely will be at Printer Gateway's booth at the Graphics Canada trade show at the International Centre in Mississauga on Nov. 11 signing copies of the comic book and posters. Graphics Canada runs Nov. 10 to 12.
