Phibbs printing equipment being auctioned off
ST. THOMAS, ON—The complete contents of commercial printer Phibbs Incorporated in St. Thomas, including Heidelberg presses and Kodak CtP systems, are being auctioned off later this month.

Danbury (DSL) auctioneers, appraisers and liquidators are hosting the auction on March 28. A call and email from PrintCAN to Phibbs on Wednesday were not returned. An employee at the auction company could not confirm if Phibbs was out of business, but noted the auction is being set up soon in the 110 Edward St. facility.

The Phibbs website, which was still active as of Thursday morning, describes the company as "designers and printers of corporate communications". The site explained the business was founded in 1952, starting as Phibbs Printing, selling print in the St. Thomas and London areas. By 1969, the company had more than 30 employees, but it's unknown how many worked there more recently.

The site also outlines the company's future plans, including "continued expansion to offer our customers new and improved services."
