Canadian printers recognized at Bennys
PITTSBURGH, PA—The winners of the 2012 Premier Print Awards (the Bennys) have been announced, and Canadian printers took home some hardware.

C.J. Graphics in Toronto won three best of category awards, in business cards, magazine inserts, and product catalogues (4+ colours).

Friesens in Altona, MB won in the school yearbooks category, Met Fine Printers in Vancouver was tops in presentation folders/portfolios (4+ colours). Colour Innovations in Toronto won in misc. specialties (Canada Post Titanic 100 Boxed Collector's Set).

The international awards competition, produced by Printing Industries of America (PIA), garnered more than 2,800 entries this round, according to the organization.

All Benny-winning pieces will be featured in a full-color publication mailed to 10,000 print buyers, as well as "recognized in front of hundreds of industry executives" at the Premier Print Awards Gala Featuring the InterTech Technology Awards and the web2awards, held in conjunction with GRAPH EXPO 2012 on Sunday, Oct. 7. The Best in Show winner will also be revealed during the awards gala.

Jay Mandarino, president and founder of The C.J. Group of Companies, noted, “These awards are very important to our marketing efforts in selling premium printed communication materials to our clients, and for getting us into other countries."
